Carry out microbial limit testing by harmonized methodology of pharmaceutical products in accordance with USP/EP/BP/JP with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Buffered Sodium Chloride Peptone Solution (Dehydrated). The combination of phosphate buffer, sodium chloride and peptone increases the viability of sensitive microorganisms by providing an isotonic environment. This is of particular importance when trying to recover cells that may be stressed or sensitive to osmotic pressure.

Buffered Sodium Chloride Peptone Solution (Dehydrated), Oxoid Preparation:
Suspend 14.63g of Sodium Chloride Peptone Broth (Buffered) in 1 litre of water (purified as required). If required, add 1-10ml Tween® 20 or 80 per litre of medium. Mix well and distribute into final containers. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
Storage conditions and Shelf life
Store the dehydrated medium at 10-30°C and use before the expiry date on the label.
Store prepared media at room temperature.
