Trichomonas Medium, Oxoid Preparation:
Suspend 37.5g in 1 litre of distilled water and bring to the boil to dissolve. Sterilise by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to approximately 50°C. Inactivate 80ml of horse serum, adjust to pH 6.0 and add it to the medium. For diagnostic work, bacterial growth may be suppressed by the addition of 1000 units of penicillin and 500µg of streptomycin per ml of medium or 100µg of chloramphenicol per ml of medium (1 vial of SR0078 per 500ml medium).

Prior to incorporation in the medium, Horse Serum SR0035 is inactivated by maintaining at a temperature of 56°C for 30 minutes, and then acidified with 1N hydrochloric acid to pH 6.0.

Application

Lead(II) iodide (PbI2) in perovskite grade refers to high-purity lead iodide specifically used for the synthesis and fabrication of perovskite materials, such as formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3) or methylammonium lead iodide(MAPbI3), which are commonly studied for perovskite solar cells and other optoelectronic devices. The high purity of lead(II) iodide perovskite grade contributes to the efficiency, stability and reproducibility of perovskite solar cells.

It should be noted that, as with all chromogenic media, organisms with atypical enzyme patterns may give anomalous reactions. The medium should be validated with locally prevalent strains to confirm sensitivity and specificity in the end-users hands, under local conditions.

A presumptive E. coli identification can be confirmed using DMAC indole reagent (do not use Kovac’s reagent as the colour of the pink colonies may be mistaken for the red colour of a positive indole result). The test should be performed on filter paper, not directly on the plate.

Sterilise specimens, equipment and media properly after use.

This molecular biology grade agarose has no detectable DNase or RNase activity and forms strong gels with low background upon ethidium bromide, SYBR® Green, or GelStarTM Staining. Due to its low EEO, DNA will have a high electrophoretic mobility. SeaKem® LE Agarose is also recommended for protein gel electrophoresis in applications such as Ouchterlony and radial immunodiffusion (RID). NEB set 3.0 kb fragment as a reference band by increasing the intensity of that band.
