Brilliance UTI Agar, Oxoid Preparation:
Suspend 56.3g of Brilliance UTI Agar in 1 litre of distilled water, mix well and sterilise by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to 50°C and mix well before pouring plates.

Dehydrated Brilliance UTI Agar must be stored tightly capped in the original container at 10-30ºC.

When stored as directed, the unopened product will remain stable until the expiry date on the label. Locally prepared media can be stored for up to 2 weeks when made from CM0949 according to the manufacturer’s instructions and stored at 2-8ºC, in the dark. A longer shelf life may be attainable, but should be validated under the relevant, local manufacturing and storage conditions.

General Descriptions
Buffered oxide etchant (BOE) is a wet etchant used in microfabrication. Its primary use is in etching thin films of silicon dioxide (SiO2) or silicon nitride (Si3N4). It is a mixture of a buffering agent, such as ammonium fluoride (NH4F), and hydrofluoric acid (HF). Concentrated HF etches silicon dioxide too quickly for good process control and also peels the photoresist used in lithographic patterning.
Application
Buffered oxide etchant (BOE) 10:1 can be used in the etching of titanium carbide, which can be used in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). It can also be used in the etching of spin-on-dopant (SOD) for the development of conductor-insulator-conductor tunnelling diodes. It can also be used to enhance the surface of fused quartz devices.

Allow to cool to 50°C and add aseptically the contents of 1 vial of Oxoid Clostridium Difficile Supplement (SR0096) reconstituted as directed, together with 7% (v/v) Defibrinated Horse Blood (SR0050). Sheep Blood (SR0051) may be used in place of Horse Blood but some strains of the organism will show a slightly reduced growth recovery. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri dishes.

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is an organic semiconductor prepared by doping cationic poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) and poly(4-styrenesulfonate) anion. Its high electrical conductivity and good oxidation resistance make it suitable for electromagnetic shielding and noise suppression. PEDOT:PSS based polymeric films have a high transparency throughout the visible light spectrum and even in near IR and near UV regions, with virtually 100% absorption from 900-2000 nm. PEDOT provides the conduction properties and PSS forms a hydrated colloidal solution.

Applications
Electrical conductivity measurements herewith reported were on a film deposited by spin-coating on a clean glass, then dried (130 °C for 15 minutes on a hotplate). The layer thickness was determined by scratching the layer and measuring the profile/height of the scratch by a stylus profilometer. Electrodes for the measurement were by evaporating metal contacts (four-point probes).
PEDOT:PSS is an intrinsically conductive polymer (ICP) that can be coated on various substrates and nanostructures like fullerenes (C60) to form composites with high electrochemical properties for applications like low-cost printed electronics, optoelectronics, and polymeric solar cells. It can be used as a conductive hydrogel with polyethylene glycol-diacrylate (PEG-DA) for potential applications in tissue engineering. PEDOT:PSS also finds use in other organic electronic applications like organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) and dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs).

SeaKem® LE Agarose was the first and is still the world’s most trusted agarose for nucleic acid electrophoresis. Ideal for routine analysis of nucleic acids by gel electrophoresis and blotting, each SeaKem® LE Gel sharply resolves DNA and provides consistent resolution from lot-to-lot. This molecular biology grade agarose has no detectable DNase or RNase activity and forms strong gels with low background upon ethidium bromide, SYBR® Green, or GelStarTM Staining.
