RPF Supplement (Rabbit Plasma Fibrinogen), Oxoid Composition

RPF Supplement Medium Preparation:
Reconstitute one vial as directed, aseptically add the contents to 90 ml of sterile Baird-Parker Agar Base (RPF) CM0961 cooled to 48°C. Mix well and use immediately.

Precautions
Colonies of some contaminating organisms growing in close proximity to the coagulase positive colonies may partially digest the coagulase halo reaction.

• Produce suitable gaseous atmosphere for growth of microaerophilic microorganisms with the Oxoid CampyGen Compact Sachet.

As soon as the CampyGen paper sachet is exposed to air, the reaction will start. It is therefore essential that the paper sachet is placed in the jar and the jar sealed within one minute.
The reaction of the ascorbic acid with oxygen is exothermic. However, the temperature of the CampyGen paper sachet will not exceed 65°C.

Storage
Store at 2-25°C. Under these conditions, the CampyGen sachets will retain their reactivity until the expiry date given on the outer box and on the foil sachet.

Numerate all culturable microorganisms from water using colony count technique with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Water Plate Count Agar (Dehydrated). This nutritious, non-selective medium conforms to ISO 6222: 1999 (E) Water quality ― Enumeration of culturable microorganisms ― Colony count by inoculation in a nutrient agar culture medium1.

Water Plate Count Agar (Dehydrated), Oxoid Preparation:
Suspend 24g of Water Plate Count Agar (ISO) in 1 litre of distilled water and bring gently to the boil to dissolve. If desired, distribute volumes of 15ml to 20ml in tubes, bottles or other containers. Sterilise by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. After sterilisation, allow to cool and maintain at 45 ± 1°C using a water bath.

Storage conditions and Shelf life
Store the dehydrated medium at 10-30°C and use before the expiry date on the label.
Store the prepared plates of medium at 2-8°C.

Oxoid Neomycin Selective Supplement (150mg/vial) allows the growth of clostridia and other anaerobes.

• Add to Blood Agar, Wilkins-Chalgren Anaerobe Agar, Part No. CM0619B, or Columbia Blood Agar, Part No. CM0331B

Neomycin Selective Medium Preparation:
Reconstitute one vial as directed, aseptically add the contents to 2 litres of Wilkins Chalgren Agar Base CM0619 or another appropriate medium cooled to approximately 50° C. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri dishes.

Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ ONE Broth-Salmonella Supplement is for the selective enrichment of Salmonella spp. from food samples in 24 hours in a single enrichment step.

ONE Broth Salmonella Selective Supplement, Oxoid Composition

ONE Broth Salmonella Selective Medium Preparation:
Suspend 5.6g of ONE Broth-Salmonella Base in 225ml of distilled water. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to below 50°C and add the contents of 1 vial of ONE Broth-Salmonella Supplement (SR0242), resuspended as directed.

Storage conditions and Shelf life
The ONE Broth-Salmonella Selective Supplement should be stored in the dark at 2-8ºC. When stored as directed, the unopened products will remain stable until the expiry date printed on the packaging.

Once prepared, ONE Broth-Salmonella can be stored for up to 2 weeks when made from CM1091 and SR0242 according to the manufacturer’s instructions and stored at 2-8ºC, in the dark. A longer shelf life may be attainable, but should be validated under the relevant, local manufacturing and storage conditions.
