Dehydrated Brilliance UTI Agar must be stored tightly capped in the original container at 10-30ºC.
Oxoid Brilliance UTI Agar plates should be stored in the original packaging, at the temperature stated on the pack or product specification, and protected from direct light.
When stored as directed, the unopened product will remain stable until the expiry date on the label. Locally prepared media can be stored for up to 2 weeks when made from CM0949 according to the manufacturer’s instructions and stored at 2-8ºC, in the dark. A longer shelf life may be attainable, but should be validated under the relevant, local manufacturing and storage conditions.

Tween®20 is a polyoxyethylene sorbitol ester that belongs to the polysorbate family. It is a nonionic detergent having a molecular weight of 1,225 daltons, assuming 20 ethylene oxide units, 1 sorbitol, and 1 lauric acid as the primary fatty acid. The ethylene oxide subunits are responsible for the hydrophilic nature of the surfactant, while the hydrocarbon chains provide the hydrophobic environment. Sorbitol forms the backbone ring to which the ethylene oxide polymers are attached.
Application
TWEEN 20 is a non-ionic detergent that has been used in a variety of applications, including:
- Post-hybridization wash buffer after in situ hybridization.
- Used along with PBS (phosphate-buffered saline) as the washing buffer for ELISA and immunostaining.
- Acted as an emulsifying agent for the preparation of stable oil-in-water emulsions

NOTE: It is critical that the selective supplement is added prior to heating. When preparing volumes greater than 1 litre contact Oxoid Technical Support for directions.

General Description
Granular lithium is a form of lithium metal that has been ground into small granules. Lithium is a soft, silver-white metal that is highly reactive and flammable. Lithium has a low density of 0.534 g/cm3, which makes it one of the lightest metals. Like the other alkali metals, lithium has a low melting point (180 °C) and is a good conductor of electricity and heat. Granular lithium is highly reactive and behaves as a strong reducing agent. It must be handled with caution due to its potential to ignite or explode. Lithium reacts readily with water and oxygen to form lithium hydroxide and lithium oxide, respectively, and even reacts with nitrogen gas at room temperature, forming lithium nitride. Typically, lithium is stored in an argon glovebox and airtight containers to prevent exposure to moisture, air, and nitrogen. To make granular lithium, the metal is first extracted from ores such as spodumene or lepidolite using a process called lithium carbonate conversion. After the lithium has been purified to a high degree of purity, it is milled into granules by rotating blades.
Lithium is a low-density alkali metal that is widely used as an anode material in rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries. It is also used to alloy with aluminum and magnesium to make them stronger and lighter.

Lithium can be used as:
- A precursor to synthesize Li-based alloys such as LiAl and LiSi alloys, which are applicable as anode materials in the field of energy conversion and storage.
- A reducing agent in the reduction of zirconium oxide compounds in molten LiCl salt.

SeaKem® LE Agarose was the first and is still the world’s most trusted agarose for nucleic acid electrophoresis. Ideal for routine analysis of nucleic acids by gel electrophoresis and blotting, each SeaKem® LE Gel sharply resolves DNA and provides consistent resolution from lot-to-lot. This molecular biology grade agarose has no detectable DNase or RNase activity and forms strong gels with low background upon ethidium bromide, SYBR® Green, or GelStarTM Staining. Due to its low EEO, DNA will have a high electrophoretic mobility. SeaKem® LE Agarose is also recommended for protein gel electrophoresis in applications such as Ouchterlony and radial immunodiffusion (RID). A number of proprietary plasmids are digested to completion with appropriate restriction enzymes to yield 10 bands, ranging from 0.5 to 10 kilobases. NEB set 3.0 kb fragment as a reference band by increasing the intensity of that band.
