Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid Yeast and Mold Agar is used for the isolation and maintenance of yeast and molds.

Yeast and Mold Agar, Oxoid Composition

Yeast and Mold Agar, Oxoid Preparation:
Suspend 41.0g in 1 litre of distilled water and bring to the boil to dissolve. Sterilise by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. The medium may be rendered selective after sterilisation by acidifying to pH 4.0 with 12-15ml of Lactic Acid SR0021 after cooling to 50°C. Do not reheat after making this addition. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri dishes.

Storage conditions and Shelf life
Store the dehydrated medium at 10-30°C and use before the expiry date on the label.
The prepared medium may be stored for up to 2 weeks at 2-8°C.

Precautions
For in vitro diagnostic use.
Do not use beyond the stated expiry date or if the product is caked, discoloured or shows any sign of deterioration.

Oxoid Yeast Autolysate Supplement is used for the preparation of New York City Medium for the isolation of Neisseria spp.

• Each vial supplements 500mL of medium

Yeast Autolysate Supplement, Oxoid Composition

Yeast Autolysate Supplement, Oxoid Preparation:
Reconstitute one vial as directed, aseptically add the contents to 500 ml of sterile GC Agar Base CM0367, 1% (w/v) Soluble Haemoglobin Powder LP0053. Mix gently and pour into sterile Petri dishes.

Oxoid Yeast Extract Powder is a dried yeast autolysate which provides a nutritious source of nitrogen and vitamins.

• Recommended for plate count of organisms in water
• Increases yield of organisms of many media or fermentation broths

Carry out plate counts of microorganisms in water with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Yeast Extract Agar (Dehydrated). Yeast Extract Agar is made to the formula described by Windle Taylor for the plate count of microorganisms in water and is tested in accordance with ISO 1133:2014. It is a rich, nutritious medium for the recovery of a wide range of bacteria, yeast, and molds.

Suspend 23g in 1 litre of distilled water. Bring to the boil to dissolve completely. Sterilise by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.

• Oxoid Yersinia Selective Agar Base (Schiemann’s CIN Agar) is used for the isolation and enumeration of Yersinia enterocolitica from clinical specimens and foods.

Yersinia Selective Agar Base, Oxoid Composition

Yersinia Selective Agar, Oxoid Preparation:
Suspend 29g in 500ml of distilled water and bring gently to the boil to dissolve completely. Sterilise by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Allow to cool to approximately 50°C and aseptically add the contents of one vial of Yersinia Selective Supplement SR0109 reconstituted as directed in the instructions for use that accompany the product. Mix gently and pour into sterile Petri dishes.

Store the dehydrated medium at 10-30°C and use before the expiry date on the label.
Store the prepared medium at 2-8°C for not more than 24 hours.

Precautions
Some strains of Yersinia enterocolitica may grow poorly or not at all. Other species of Yersinia may grow along with some enteric organisms. It is therefore essential that full identification tests are carried out on suspect colonies.
